I have a question about how to create categories/manufacturer folder to store product's pics.
When I installed oscommerce, it will automatically add several folders such as dvd, microsoft, matrox, sierra, hewlett_packard, ...etc. Now, I want to create a new folder to put product's pic into different folder as it can be more systematic. Can anyone tell me how to do it? And please forgive my silly question and I think it is simple step to do (but I really can't find it wink.gif ).

For example, there is an item "A Bug's Life" that has been added by default installation. When I go to administrator page and select it in Categories/Products, it shows the path of image is "dvd/a_bugs_life.gif". If I want to remove the image to another folder, how to do it?

to move an item from one folder to another or from one category to another is this

you should click on the category where the item and image is located and the click on that then click on the item. then on the right it should say move to then click that then I will give you a drop down menu and scroll down til find what you are looking for and then that should do it.

Thanks morrisfigtshop!
I can move the item to different categories. But how to move the product's image to another folder.

For example, if I want to move "a_bugs_life.gif" image from path "images\dvd" to "images\microsoft". How to do it?

In addition, can anyone teach me how to create a new image folder?

Many thanks!

ok using the site itself that is impossbible but you can use an FTP Client to do that

How come!
That means the default folder of oscommerce image folder (dvd, microsoft) is no meaning. Although it is not a big deal to put all images into the same folder, it is better to have a systematic allocation of images. What do you think?
As I am poor in programming, do anyone have the same problem with me and how to solve it. Thank you so much!

Thanks ingz!
However, I still failed to do it.

In Step 1
I have created both same folder name in my harddrive and server, e.g. catalog/images/wallpapaer

In Step 2
When I want to upload image and I hit "Browse" button in admin panel, I select the image in my hard drive. However, after I hit "preview", it just uploaded it into the images folder but not images/wallpaper folder.

This is the screen I add the pic from my hard drive

After finished upload pic

In Step 3
I really don't know how to do it.....
