Hi!

A total newbie here, so please be kind and use laymen's terms please. I apologize if this question seems stupid to some, but I'm new to OsCommerce and having my own web site and am wondering what others have done in this situation.

Where do I add an the item number for each product/item (the one I assign each item in my inventory)? There is not a space/field for an item number in the add "new product" page. Since I have a lot of jewelry items, it would be very helpful if I knew the exact one someone is ordering by item number.

Do I add it to the field "Product Name" along with a basic description of the item? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Brightest Blessings,

FYI for all newbies...when you enter a product in your admin, enter your/the item number in the "Product Model" field.

I was confused thinking the product id was the identifier I was to use for inventory, invoicing, etc.

Here is a brief explanation I found helpful.

...and thanks Moon for being on top of things and answering so quickly.
