I get to here: http://localhost/shop/catalog/install/install.php?step=2
but if I hit Continue...nothing happens.

I have apache 2.2 on XP, doesn't give any errors...just doesn't do anything...

Oh, and my PHP version is 5.2

The most common cause for installation getting stuck in step 2
is that most recent PHP installations have register_long_arrays = OFF
This needs to be turned to ON in the php.ini file (you will need to
stop and restart your server to get this change to take effect.)

several issues...using named instance of mysql for some reason...user account didn't have the right permissions...took the lazy way and did a grant all on *.* ... and...yeah, I think that did it...I know have a control panelly looking thing

Any suggestions for how to deal with this problem if you don't have access to the php.ini file on your server? I'm trying to set up a store in a shared server hosting environment (Dreamhost) and I can't change the php.ini.
