For security reasons I would likme to know if the "admin" file name can be changed easily? What are the steps?

Thanks

FTP to your site, highlight the 'admin' folder, or right-click, select the Rename option. Rename it.

Go to admin/includes/configure.php and change the two entries to /admin/ to /new_name/

Once you've done that you password protect the newly renamed 'admin' folder. If you had it password protected previously the name change will have removed it so it'll have to be redone.

thanks, it worked.

While I have you, can you help me with another problem? Whenever I go to my admin site it opens as unsecured. I did all the changes to the admin/configure file but it still remains unsecured when I first enter. However, when I click on the word Administration at the top of the control box (next to Online catalog and Support Site) it then becomes secure. Do you know what the problem might be?

Thanks again
