How come every time I visit the PayPal Developer's forum, theres always someone saying they have a bug. The bug can be as simple as IPN sends an extra e-mail or re-posts an extra time , etc.

Can those who rely on PayPal IPN heavily share some of your insights on it? Is it reliable? Has there ever been a bug that just made things a crazy for you?

Also, I am aware that PayPal IPN has a custom field....how long can this field be?

I've been using devosc's Paypal Shoppig Cart IPN module for a few years now without any problems.

(sorry for the typo - it looks as if I am suffering from a cold)

The oscommerce paypal IPN contribution works great. Why not use it?
