This sales cart has been a nightmare since day one. I am so close to just chucking in the towel and telling my client that I can't do it...

I have tried everything, looked everywhere, scoured the forum for solution but I cannot get PayPal Web Standard to work.

Whenever I attempt an order and get to the payment screen there is a box with "This is currently the only payment method available to use on this order." in it but no logo, no name (Paypal?) nothing. If I click Continue I get this error "Please select a payment method for your order."

In the PayPal Module set up I have done the following...

Accept Paypal? - True
Email address - my account email
Payment Zone - none
Prep order status - Preparing
Paypal Acknowledge - Default
Gateway Server - Live
Transaction Method - Sale
Page Style - blank
Debug email - my email
Sort Order of display - 0
Enable Encrypted Web Payments - False
Your Prvate Key - blank
Your public certificate - blank
PayPals Public Certificate - blank
PayPals Public Certificate ID - blank
Working directory - /tempay/ **** This is in OS-C root on my server? Right?
OpenSSL Location - /usr/bin/openssl/ ????? Where this???

Is there some font of all knowledge regarding setting this up?? This poor designer is way too dumb to work it out. Why are these things always so hard??

Aaaargh!

Les Hall, Dallas.

Chek the data base table where in configuration it has a list of modules installed seperated by ;,
If it is installed then it should be some zone setting(Yours is none so shouldnt be).

Place some file write code in the payment gateway class constructor plus code where it disables and enables.

This will lead You to a reason.

I'm seeing a similar problem - but not with Paypal - with the standard credit card module that does not use a payment gateway. The merchant processes orders manually as a batch file at the end of the day.

When entering a valid credit card, the checkout_payment.php page keeps looping and producing the same error every time-
"Please select a payment method for your order."

Satish - your response was so cryptic, I couldn't make sense of it... blink.gif

Yes I'm afraid Satish's help was a bit oblique. I'm trying to make this simpler!

In then end I got it to work but the dreadful thing is I have no idea how I achieved that. I can't wait to finish this project. Talk about productivity sinkhole....
