I'm trying to setup an online wine store which can make shipping a little tricky if you go over 1 box based on weight. The other problem is that I want to charge no shipping fees if the customer buys 1 dozen bottles. Through the Aus Post calcs, the charges come up as a certain amount (say $6) whether I have 1 bottle or 12. The minute I go over that and hit the two boxes the price goes nuts.
The problem I have is that I want to charge no postage costs (online anyway) if they buy a dozen of a certain product. The way I thought I could get around this was to set up a product which is a "product x 12" with no weight. AusPost still wants to charge a fee for this.
Is there anyway to overwrite this? Another idea I had was to include the "average Aus shipping price" into the price of the product and let customers know that is the case so they don't get bummed when they see a $6 charge for shipping.
Any ideas to help?
